One of the moments I always carry in my heart is the speech I give at the beginning of each event. Being in front of hundreds of participants, each with their own story, preparation, and expectations, is an emotion that never ceases to surprise me. My goal is to convey to them not only the confidence they need to tackle the course, but also the energy and enthusiasm that make Unpaved Roads a unique experience.

There is something special about seeing the focused, smiling faces of the listeners. You can sense the anticipation, the eagerness to get started, and I feel the responsibility and honor of accompanying them on this adventure. Then when, at the end of the day, someone comes back to me with a hug or a simple “Thank you, that was incredible,” I realize that all the work, sleepless nights, and organizational challenges are worth every second.

With many participants we have now become a family. Each event is a new opportunity to strengthen these bonds and create new ones. It is this connection, this sense of community, that makes gravel more than just a cycling discipline-it is a way of life.

Four Years of Growth and Success

The year 2025 marks the fourth year of Unpaved Roads, and looking back, I realize how much we have grown. It seems like just yesterday that we organized the first event at Radda in Chianti, carefully selecting locations from a list of over fifteen possibilities. Each edition taught us something new and pushed us to improve.
